Admission Eligibility

  • Both the applicant and his/her parents are not citizens of Korea
    1. ① Not acceptable If one of parents has Korean nationality
    2. ② Both applicant’s parents and applicant must acquire foreign citizenship before commencing their education course corresponding to that of high school in Korea.
    3. ③ Applicants must submit documents proving the nationality of the applicant and his/her parents, and the relationship between the parents and him/herself.
    4. ④ In case of parents’ divorce/death, related document must be submitted (e.g. document indicating divorce and custody/parental authority, death certificate, etc.)
  • Those who have graduated from domestic / overseas high school (including those who are expected to graduate)
  • Those who have one of the following language proficiency;
    1. ① Level 3 or higher on the Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK)
    2. ② Those who have passed the Korean Language Proficiency test at CNU Institute of International Language Education
    3. ③ Those who have completed at least 2 semesters of the regular Korean language course / and, completed level 3 or higher on a Korean course at CNU Institute of International Language Education
    4. ④For Global Studies Track: TOEIC 700, TOEFL (CBT 197, iBT71), New TEPS 326, IELTS 5.5 and over Nationals of countries that use English as their mother tongue or legal official language can apply without submitting a language certificate related to English
    5. ⑤ Those who admitted in CNU with the condition ①, ②, ③, must achieve TOPIK level 4 or higher / TOEIC 700 / TOEFL (CBT197, iBT71) / New TEPS 326 / IELTS 5.5 and over before graduation.
  • Unable to apply
    1. ① Multiple nationalities including Korean nationals
    2. ② Those who have acquired academic background through homeschooling, cyber learning and high school graduation equivalency examinations (e.g. GED)
